At Design Shifu, we support the responsible development and use of AI technologies. This policy defines how our content may be used by large language models (LLMs), AI developers, and AI-integrated platforms, balancing visibility with protection of intellectual property and user trust.
Definitions
- LLM (Large Language Model): AI systems capable of generating text, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.
- Indexing: Reading and storing metadata or excerpts from content for response generation.
- Training: Using content as part of a dataset to teach or fine-tune a model.
- Transformative Use: Creating derivative works that significantly alter or build upon original content.
Allowed Uses
- Crawling and indexing blog articles, glossary entries, and case studies for non-commercial knowledge representation.
- Quoting or summarizing public content with proper attribution and a clickable link.
Prohibited Uses
- Using gated, private, or sensitive content (e.g., pricing, dashboards, client areas).
- Using Design Shifu content to train proprietary AI systems without written consent.
- Storing, caching, or redistributing full pages or sections without transformation.
- Monetizing content, data scraping, or creating derivative works that mimic our service without licensing.
Attribution Requirements
If AI systems quote, summarize, or surface our content, they must:
- Clearly credit “Design Shifu”
- Link to the original source page (where possible)
- Avoid presenting Design Shifu’s content as the AI’s own response or opinion
Monitoring & Enforcement
We monitor LLM usage via known AI crawler user agents and regular audits of AI outputs. Unauthorized use of our content may result in:
- Takedown requests
- DMCA complaints
- Legal action under copyright or data misuse laws
